Course content
This course is separated into four modules of learning:
Module One: Scaffolding Theory
Scaffolding is a common teaching strategy which is used to support learners in successfully mastering new skills and curriculum content. There are a wide range of scaffolding strategies which can be built into classroom teaching to suit the needs of the learners.
Module Two: Sensory Scaffolding
Typically, most scaffolding strategies fall into three categories: sensory, interactive, and graphic. Module two will focus on sensory scaffolding.
Module Three: Interactive Scaffolding
Interactive scaffolding is when you support pupils through interacting with others.
Module Four: Graphic Scaffolding
Graphic scaffolding is when you exemplify or present information in a visual format to help pupils conceptualise it. This often helps to breakdown learning into more manageable chunks and allows pupils to focus on each part individually.
