The course is separated into three modules of learning:
Module One: Understanding DyslexiaIn this module, we will gain an understanding of what dyslexia is, expel some common myths, develop an awareness of the signs and symptoms of dyslexia, and how they can present themselves in the different phases of a person’s life.
Module Two: Dyslexia in Everyday LifeIn this module, we will consider the impact dyslexia can have on the everyday lives of individuals. Dyslexia varies from person to person; no two people will have the same set of strengths and weaknesses, which can have a substantial effect on an individual’s day-to-day activities.
Module Three: Dyslexia in Schools and the ClassroomIn this module, we will consider the legal role schools and educators play in supporting students with additional learning needs, including dyslexia. We will then explore ways in which we can create a dyslexia-friendly learning environment and look at teaching strategies to support dyslexic learners in the classroom.
